If I could be small,
I’d sleep inside a tulip…
I’d wake up and bounce from flower to flower
like they were trampolines.
When I got tired, I’d climb the nearest railing
and sit there… my own personal wooden deck.
When I got thirsty, I’d drink from the drops on the leaves.
Then I’d saddle up my bug and zoom around my husband’s head.
On second thought, I wouldn’t fly too close to my husband’s head.
He’s got very good aim.
Instead, I’d saddle up a different friend…
I’d pester the person who ate the last cookie in the cupboard;
but I’ve got a bad feeling that it’s my husband.
Perhaps his full belly will
slow his reflexes.
When I’m finished buzzing around,
I know the perfect place to rest.
I’d climb up and sit on a puffy dandelion and get a sun tan.
Hopefully, I’d resume my normal size
if someone threatened to step on me.
