What to do if your dog won’t defend you

by Lynn on May 12, 2010

As you can see, there’s good reason to sit outside…

Our deck is surrounded by azalea…

There’s only one tiny problem…

Luckily, I have a dog.
She eats bugs.

She assumes her position beside me, ever alert to danger…

Um, wait a second. She doesn’t look too alert.

No! Don’t lay down!
You have to protect me!
Earn your keep and start gobbling up bugs!

Now this is just WRONG.
You better not close your eyes…

This is an outrage.
I’m going to get a pet who is more vicious.
…like a bunny…

Only one thing missing…where is her tiara? She is the sweetest little thing!!!

Paige May 12, 2010 at 8:38 am

Well, don’t replace her with a toy poodle which would just befriend the bug. Trust me.

You can almost hear her snoring.

I think her lack of interest might be due to the time you put her in an Easter bonnet and took photos for the world to see. Just sayin…,

I think she’s exhausted from wearing her necklaces. That happens to me, too.

don’t worry…she just did that to lull them into a false sense of security! That really IS her attack mode….really!!

Molly May 12, 2010 at 3:38 pm

Wow, that is an incredible photo of the bee! But the commentary was the best!

hi,
I found you via design mom. I appreciate your post. i have an 8 month old and nursing her has been very hard. Right now both of my nipples are cracked. 8 month! COME ON! I bleed every time I nurse her, seriously, I do. It got better and now it got worse. I am thinking that weening is the solution but your post motivated me to try and get some help.

Get that bee to land on your pup and she’ll come alive! lol!

Oh gosh. Don’t I know a dog like this. Only my dog likes to eat the poop of my other dog WHILE IT”S BEING POOPED! Agh! And I still manage to love her.

At least she doesn’t run AWAY from bugs (like someone in my household!)
