I’m a big baby.
I don’t like being away from home.
I feel out of sorts, discombobulated, and discomforted.
So when I’m vacationing, I quickly learn the landmarks that lead me to back to my hotel.

On vacation, we were within walking distance of Colonial Williamsburg.
When we got hot and tired, we could trudge back home.

I always felt such relief when I saw this sign.
Am I weird? Do any of you long to be home, even if it’s a motel room?

I loved reaching the courtyard and seeing the pretty gardens.
However, I was usually sweaty and grumpy at this point,
so I headed straight into the cool hotel.

When I crawled into the elevator,
I knew I was close to my destination.
“Third floor, please,” I’d murmur in a weak raspy voice.
I think a lot of the hotel guests thought I was weird. Go figure.
They had no idea how difficult it is to avoid being hypnotized by ducks.

Relief flooded through me when we got to the 3rd floor.
Nearly there…
I skipped to the vending machine and bought soda pop and Twizzlers.
Then I took a running dive onto my bed, ate my snacks, and watched TV.

Problem is, I got really used to being in my hotel room.
Now that I’m home, I miss my hotel room.

This made me laugh! I can definitely relate. We are all 2-year-olds inside who want to be in a safe room with a comfortable bed, toys (TV, books) and snacks. And, mmmmmmmm, I love Twizzlers, too!
Question: Comment Luv doesn’t always link to my last post. Do you know why? Is there something I’m supposed to be doing to make it work?

Mary´s last blog ..Home away from home
I love going on vacations and exploring, but at the end of the day the hotel room is pretty inviting. I usually shower and snuggle under the covers to read or check my computer and then go to sleep exhausted but it does feel like home (unless the mattress is too hard, which is often the case. ha)
And returning home is wonderful too!!!
Then I develop my vacation pictures and moan that I wish I was still there, too. :0}

I hate hotel rooms. I’d rather be out exploring and come back to the hotel just in time to fall into bed for a good night’s sleep.
