After an afternoon spent in the mall, I was done. The jostling, the crowds, the confusion of hallways did me in. Luckily, I have a teen who remembers where we park. I’m a very lucky woman. I complacently followed her through the parking lot. I believe in the value of giving kids leadership roles. Plus, I knew she’d find our car.

Things were looking up… until I looked down.

AHHHHH!!!
Not only are malls terrifying, but so are mall parking lots.

It’s really funny how alike we are. I also rely on my teenage daughter to give me directions, I get terribly lost in mega-sized malls too and, if I don’t put my parking bay number in my mobile phone, I will never remember where we parked either. And even then, I can’t figure out why the numbers don’t run the way I was taught. 1-2-3-4-5-…..y’know? sheesh.

How cool that you have your own designated car finder to accompany you. Did you scream out loud when you saw the mannequin?

The Mannequin theme song is playing in my head. The one by Jefferson Starship. Thanks for this post & for replacing the Macarena with that 80′s hit.

Your post reminded me of the year my son made my husband a “leg lamp” for Christmas a few years ago. You know the one – like the one from the movie “A Christmas Story”. He bought the mannequin leg off ebay and carried it around with him when he went in search of the right shoe for the leg. He said he got some pretty weird looks during those trips to the thrift stores.
