Do Witches like Pigs in a Blanket?

by Lynn on August 25, 2010

I’m still trapped in the castle. The old witch demands that I cook dinner for her, which will only spell disaster. Even though my kids dance with excitement whenever I serve “pigs in a blanket,” I doubt the witch will. In an effort to distract her from my horrible cooking, I decided to mix things up in the dining room. Luckily, the old laptop I found is still working. I ordered a light fixture online and had it delivered.

Before: Dated light fixture, circa 1985.

Yowza. It hurt my eyes to look at it, and it seemed to attract dust like nobody’s business.

The poor thing was just plain ugly. No wonder the witch was so grumpy.
I installed the new light while I was supposed to be making dinner.

After: New light fixture, circa 2010.

I hope the witch likes it.

I hope it distracts her from the hot dogs on her plate.

Perhaps the soft glow of the tinted globes will make wieners look like filet mignon.

I’m hoping that the little details will distract her from the stale potato chips.
I will let you know how things proceed.

By the way, I’m still waiting for Prince Charming to rescue me.

If things get ugly …. give her a little taffy to chew on. That’ll keep her busy for awhile. :)

I love the new light fixture. Ours in the kitchen is circa 1973 or so and I’m saving up to replace it.

I’m sure she’ll love the new light fixture. I know we really like ours and we don’t have the curly-q things on ours. It does give off a warm glow. Maybe Prince Charming needs a GPS?

LOL. I just had a discussion with my Gent about replacing the light fixture in our kitchen. It will make this witch much happier!

Maybe the old witch will look prettier in the big mirror (from the new awesome light) when she asks who is the fairest of them all…and of course, when the mirror answers the COOK, you will once again be in big trouble. You better go kiss a few frogs (quickly) before that happens!!

Oh wow, your dining room is beautiful. I was also poking around and got such a kick out of the fashion photos of your dog. I really have a soft spot for animals, so that really gave me a nice smile to start my day.
I have a cat and he’s my blogging assistant. You can meet him here if you like:
