Mason jars aren’t just for canning

by Lynn on August 26, 2010

If you’ve had a chance to read my earlier posts, I’ve been kidnapped by a grumpy witch.
She wants me to cook her dinner, so I’ve started to cook some hot dogs.
They are the only thing I can cook properly.

Even though I’m a rotten cook, I’m good at distracting people.
I searched the castle’s kitchen and came across an unused mason jar…

I poked some holes into the top…

I filled it with wildflowers that I could reach from the kitchen window…

…instant centerpiece!

Truthfully, if flowers don’t brighten the witch’s day, perhaps bubbles will…

Now, if only Prince Charming will arrive soon to rescue me!

Beautiful!! You can make anything look beautiful with that camera and photographer’s eye of yours! I am glad the witch is allowing you to keep using your camera.

I love that little simple centerpiece! But you can’t fool me, I know the bubbles are not in water…I know it is champagne!!! Slip some to the witch and I bet she is singing before long and you can steal the keys from her.

I just watched one of those wedding shows yesterday where a planner comes in and does amazing things to pull off a wedding. The little bride to be was very country and one of the things they did was use Mason jars for flower arrangements at the reception. I just love your idea and am going to have to borrow it if you don’t mind. Thanks for the tip!
