Sorry gang, but I just vaulted into the stratosphere of parenting.
You can try to top my awesomeness, but it’s unlikely.
It all began last Thursday…
I went to my kid’s concert, but not just any concert:
Oh yes. It was a Christmas concert.
In January.
Originally, the concert was scheduled for mid-December.
It was postponed due to snow.

It’s difficult listening to Christmas songs long after the holiday.
Not many people can tolerate such confusion and angst.
I was up to the task. I’m renowned for my fortitude.
Unless oral surgery is involved.

Pay no heed to these other parents. They didn’t clap as loudly as I did.
I didn’t see one of them wrapping Xmas presents in the auditorium like I did.
I figure why not have Christmas again? It’ll make the concert all the more relevant.

A funny thing happened when the lights dimmed.
It didn’t’ feel like January after all. Rather, it felt like the week before Christmas.
The kids played with Xmas spirit, but I like to think that my loud “Ho Ho Ho-ing” helped.

I must say that I enjoyed myself immensely. This parenting thing is easy.
However, it’s not easy putting up Xmas decorations so soon after Christmas.
Love, the best parent ever.
P.S. Portions of this post were greatly exaggerated.
P.P.S. Other portions of this post were outright lies, except for the concert part.

You are a great parent. I have a hard time getting mentally prepared for Christmas concerts when it’s Christmas time. I love to see my child sing and play instruments and smile but….its a Christmas concert. Just not something I would volunteer to attend if my babies weren’t performing. Anyway…I concur that you should receive the best parent award for today!
Lie on, momma! I felt the Jingle in your jib-jab. Merry January! Did you go out for turkey and cranberry sauce afterwards? …or did you have to settle for month old gingerbread at Starbucks and a peppermint latte?
Postponing it just gave them more time to practice. ; )
And found the Quelf game! Well, my mom found it…in a Colorado Springs Wal-Mart while visiting my CO bro. lol!

I gladly relinquish the title of “best mother ever” to you since I have had to neglect my chicken poxy 11 year-old due to a very ill husband. Oh the quandary I was in. So, you go….girl.
I know this is a little personal but, I just love you. You make me laugh every day and I think you’re a saintly parent for going to a Christmas concert after Christmas. I was so sick of Christmas after Christmas, I think I would have had to forfeit the concert even for my own beloveds.
Hi, I’m new here, and this was the highlight of my night! I will be coming back because you did, indeed, make me laugh:) Thank you. Funny. Hee hee. there I said it. It was funny:)
As last year’s. Best Parent EVer, I wanted to say that I could not have passed it one to a mother deserving mother.
