Never trust a dog with appetizers

by Lynn on December 2, 2013

Tragedy marred our Thanksgiving.

At first, all went well.
I spent hours slaving over a sumptuous feast.
The menu included homemade pumpkin pie (from REAL pumpkins).
Even the pumpkin seeds became a spectacular appetizer for the hungry masses.

Did you know pumpkin seeds and cheese make a lovely appetizer?
I’ll share pictures and recipes in just a second.
Look! Even my dog celebrated the holiday.

Okay, so all you have to do is set out an elaborate cheese plate for your guests.
The goodies will keep everyone entertained while you finish cooking.
Look at how well my plan worked:

Um. This is embarrassing.
So, how was your Thanksgiving?

How can you be mad at that sweet face? Such a gorgeous doggie!

That is totally something our dogs would do. You can’t leave anything out here. I have even found dogs on the countertop and the dining room table. It’s hard to stay mad at them though.

She didn’t! … Did she?

Orrrrrr maybe, just maybe, you staged those pictures … added some innuendo … just to get some sympathy, am I right?

Poor girl.

The pup, that is.

At least you know those appetizers were good. Otherwise she wouldn’t have finished them.

I just hope you had something else for your guests to nibble on.
